Shockwave Therapy Can Help
Reduce Pain | Promote Healing | Avoid Surgery |
Many patients experience an immediate reduction in pain levels following their first episode of shockwave therapy. Shockwave therapy helps to disperse pain mediators and release trigger points. | Shockwave therapy can help activate and promote healing. The shockwaves increase nutrient blood flow and collagen production, as well as breaking down unwanted calcification from previous traumas. | Shockwave therapy is a more conservative approach to treating musculoskeletal disorders. Unlike surgery, shockwave therapy avoids the possibility of postoperative complication and protracted recovery. |
What Is Shockwave Therapy?
Shockwave therapy involves applying mechanical pressure on the skin above the location that is being treated. Sound waves pass through the skin to vibrate tissues and stimulate healing and pain relief.
Typically shockwave therapy takes place over 3 sessions each one week apart. It is common to experience pain relief after each session but all 3 sessions are required to maximize the healing effect.
